Program
A 20-hour intensive formation program for those responsible for
pastoral planning at both the parish and diocesan levels and those
diocesan personnel responsible for providing support to parish and
regional pastoral planning. Participants will receive two Continuing
Education Units (CEU) from Loyola Marymount University. Incorporating
the core competencies listed below, this educational program will
concentrate on an approach to planning that integrates faith with
sound planning practice. |

Cost includes the program, meals and materials:
$500 for CPPCD

Core Competencies
- Discern and address current realities in the church and the world in
light of the Gospel
- Articulating pastoral responses that invite the community into
discipleship and witness according to the pastoral needs of people
from various cultures
- Demonstrating skill in theological reflection
- Promote the ecclesiological renewal confirmed by Vatican II
- Utilize leadership skills in ministry, including visioning, planning,
communication, decision-making, delegation, and conflict management to
effectively plan for emerging models of pastoral leadership and parish
structures
- Work effectively with parish and (arch)diocesan systems and structures
to ensure the mission of the Church.
- Using appropriate theories, models, processes, and methods in diocesan
and parish systems planning
- Providing for annual and strategic planning in light of the mission
and goals of the diocese and involving parishes in all levels of
planning.
