CPPCD presents two awards to individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to the Church.  These awards are presented at the annual convention.  Individuals are nominated by members of CPPCD.

In recognition of extraordinary service, initiative and creativity on the part of a CPPCD member in support of pastoral planning and consultative processes in the direction set forth by the Second Vatican Council, as well as sustained commitment to furthering the mission of the CPPCD In recognition of distinguished pastoral leadership in the utilization of planning and broad consultation processes, influencing a significant number of people, structures and programs and showing initiative and creativity while raising awareness of the principles of the document, Lumen Gentium

This award is presented to a CPPCD member who:

  • has demonstrated extraordinary service to the People of God in support of pastoral planning and/or council development;
  • has revealed initiative, creativity, and performance results;
  • has impacted a large number of people;
  • has shared his/her talents and experience with members of CPPCD;
  • has demonstrated sustained commitment to furthering the mission of CPPCD.

This award recognizes a person or group inside or outside the membership of CPPCD that has implemented the direction and goals of the Second Vatican Council in an extraordinary manner.  In particular the award acknowledges:

  • distinguished pastoral leadership in the utilization of planning and broad consultation processes;
  • initiative and creativity in responding to parish or diocesan changing needs;
  • significant contributions to raising awareness of the principles of the document, Lumen Gentium;
  • a significant number of people, structures, or programs influenced.
